PRESS RELEASE

The African Cultural Gala Night is Friday 6th October 2023 @5pm

THEME: RECLAIMING YOUR ROOTS

The African Cultural Showcase presents the forthcoming event known as African Cultural Gala Night (ACGN)on the 6th of October 2023 taking place at Hilton Croydon CR9 4RR. Starting at 5 pm, the event will feature a variety of dance troops and entertainers from across the African continent to entertain, educate and facilitate the appreciation of our people. Involving a gala dinner, the event is expected to attract about 400 people from across the United Kingdom, including Diplomats, politicians, eminent personalities, and influential community leaders.

However, it will reach out to countless thousands of people across the globe through social media platforms. In showcasing African culture before a global audience, ACGN will be promoting the significance of heritage through cultural dance and music. It will demonstrate the importance of music and dance as a medium for social engagement and communication to address key contemporary issues.  Put together and organized by African cultural Icon and celebrity Talking drummer Ayan De First- Mr. Culture, ACGN will involve the playing of melodious and mesmerizing rhythms associated with African music and dance that is fundamental to African culture.

These embody traditional African beliefs, values, and norms and serve as a means of communicating knowledge from generation to generation. Our event which is unique in the diaspora is very special as it gives Africans and friends of Africa the deserved opportunity to celebrate authentic African culture in style and shows the true image of Africa. It also gives British African youths a great opportunity to experience and embrace their cultural heritage in a corporate way.

The planning committee would like to invite you and other like-minded people to join us and our amazing array of bands and exhibitors showcasing the African culture whilst highlighting Black awareness and promoting cultural diversity, on an evening with experiences of Africa in London flavored with African cuisine and the famous palm wine.

Our main goal is inclusion… is in appreciating key strengths and diversity and when we think of Cohesion, we hear echoes in building relationships with people from backgrounds; as Bob Marley’s song comes to mind…’’One Love One Heart’’. We are bringing a West End Themed show into our own community and neighborhood, and we urge you to join us and would be delighted if you can partner with us.
